Gwyneth Paltrow is "proud" of her friendship with Chris Martin.
The ‘Goop’ founder has remained close to her ex-husband since they split in March 2014 for the sake of their two children, Apple, 12, and Moses, 10, and is glad she made the "commitment" to do what’s best for her family.
Speaking on BBC News’ HARDTalk, she said: "It was a difficult time in our lives. We didn’t know that the ‘conscious uncoupling’ phrase was going to inspire so much conversation. At the time people said, these people are crazy and it’s true, but over time now I hear people saying thank you for showing there is another way.
"You can remain a family even though you are not a couple and make it a less traumatic experience for the children. It wasn’t my phrase, but I’m very proud of it.
"As anybody who has been divorced knows, you have to put a lot aside to maintain the family and the practicalities of what that might mean and sometimes that’s quiet tough on a personal level. It’s a commitment I make every day to my children and their father even though we’re not in a romantic relationship."
Meanwhile, the 43-year-old actress previously revealed she thinks she is better just being friends with the Coldplay frontman.
She said: "I think we are better as friends than we were [married]. We are very close and supportive of one another.
"It hasn’t always been easy for us because you have good days and bad days as you do in life with anything, but I feel lucky because Chris has been willing to push himself for the sake of the kids and help me co-create this new family. It’s like we are still a family, but not a couple."
