Craig David wants The Voice mentoring job

Craig David would love to mentor on ‘The Voice’.
The 35-year-old singer wouldn’t turn down the chance to join the talent show’s coaching panel – which consisted of will.i.am, Ricky Wilson, Paloma Faith and Boy George on the fifth series – but on one condition that he gets to decide which songs the contestants in his category get to sing.
Asked if he’d like the job, he told The Sun newspaper: "I’d be completely up for that – but only if I get to choose the music."
And the ‘One More Time’ hitmaker may be in luck as it was recently revealed that the producers of the show – which was recently poached from the BBC by rivals ITV – are reportedly panicking over struggling to find reputable stars to take on the judging role when the next series hits screens in 2017.
An insider explained: "It’s not looking good. Producers are having no luck finding respected musicians to join the show."
Meanwhile, it seems not everyone is up for joining the programme as pop beauty Jess Gylnne has admitted she rejected an offer to become a mentor last year.
The 26-year-old singer said: "There have been talks. People have approached me about it [‘The Voice’] but it’s just not something I’m interested in right now to be honest."
And the ‘Hold My Hand’ hitmaker is not the only musician to turn down ‘The Voice’ as Sir Paul McCartney and former ‘X Factor’ judge Gary Barlow both opted against joining.
