Amazon Prime to broadcast Preacher TV series

Amazon Prime is to broadcast ‘Preacher’, the TV show based on the popular comic book.
The popular streaming service has confirmed it will launch the show in the UK on Monday (23.05.16) and then the subsequent episodes will be made available a day after they are watched in the US.
Brad Beale, Amazon worldwide television acquisition vice-president, said: "’Preacher’ is one of the most ambitious and highly anticipated new series of the year, and exactly the kind of show we want to bring our Prime members around the world."
The Sony-backed TV series is co-produced by Seth Rogen, who is a self-confessed comic book fan, and the showrunner is Sam Catlin of ‘Breaking Bad’.
Dominic Cooper of ‘Agent Carter’ and Joseph Gilgun of ‘This is England’ are among the lead actors, as is Ruth Negga.
‘Preacher’ is the latest in an increasingly-lengthy list of exclusive shows in the UK, a significant number of which have been bought from US cable networks.
Among the other exclusive programmes being broadcast via Amazon Prime are ‘Mr Robot’, ‘Outlander’, ‘Lucifer’ and ‘Vikings’.
This latest announcement comes shortly after it emerged Jeremy Clarkson only recently signed up to the Amazon website, even though he is preparing to front a new motoring show on Amazon Prime with Richard Hammond and James May, his former ‘Top Gear’ co-hosts.
He said: "I joined Amazon yesterday, which I am rather ashamed to admit. Has anyone tried shopping on Amazon? How do you stop?
"I haven’t stopped shopping since. I’m not going to have any money left, I’m going to buy everything then sell, it’s addictive."
Clarkson, 56, joined Amazon following his sacking by the BBC last year after he verbally and physically attacked one of the show’s producers at a hotel while filming on location.
