Catherine Tyldesley has been accused of sending flirty messages to a married man.
The ‘Coronation Street’ actress – who stars as Eva Price on the ITV soap – is said to have clashed with the wife of former soccer ace Jim Whitley over a racy picture she sent of herself in her bra to the retired sportsman, after casting him as her love interest in a video for the song ‘Mad About The Boy’.
A source told the Sun on Sunday newspaper: "Cath might lay claim to traditional values now, but they were nowhere to be seen when she pursued Jim.
"Back then it was clear what she was after from the beginning.
"She can act like butter wouldn’t melt in her mouth now, but her behaviour was predatory. She used to ring and text him all the time, especially very late at night."
"It caused a lot of tension between him and his wife Helen."
Helen, 37, messaged the blonde beauty directly after seeing she had posted the image on her Facebook profile.
Helen wrote: "I have come across your profile picture – an image of you and Jim. I know you are aware he is living with me and our child.
"I would be grateful if you would remove this picture as I find it inappropriate and would appreciate it if you would refrain from sending Jim any more undignified and wholly inappropriate messages."
JIm is also reported to have asked Catherine to remove the picture, but the situation continued to develop.
The source explained: "After Jim finally told Cath to stop contacting him she seemed to back off and he and Helen moved on.
"But when she realised later that Cath had sent him the bra pic, she was fuming and it all got dragged back up.
"Luckily they got over it. But if their relationship hadn’t been so strong Cath could have destroyed their family."
Catherine is due to wed fiancé Tom Pitfield this month, and the couple have a 14-month-old son together called Alfie.
