Arnold Schwarzenegger is to star in action/comedy ‘Why We’re Killing Gunther’.
The 68-year-old movie legend has joined the motion picture which is being helmed by Saturday Night Live’s Taran Killam.
Killam, 34, wrote the script and will make his directorial debut on the project.
He will also appear on screen and will be in charge of his wife ‘How I Met Your Mother’ star Cobie Smulders in the film.
Fellow ‘SNL’ alumni Bobby Moynihan and Paul Brittain, Silicon Valley’s Kumail Nanjiani, The Interview’s Randall Park and Ryan Gaul make up the rest of the ensemble cast.
The former Governor of California is set to play an elite assassin who is being hunted by his peers, a group of eccentric professional hit-men who are are sick of Gunther and his arrogant personality and target the veteran killer.
Taran is also on board to produce alongside Kim Leadford, Ash Sarohia and Steve Squillante.
Schwarzenegger’s last big screen appearance was in ‘Terminator Genisys’, in which he reprised his role as the T-800 killer cyborg for a fourth time in the sci-fi franchise opposite ‘Game of Thrones’ actress Emilia Clarke, who played Sarah Connor, and Jai Courtney as Kyle Reese.
