Prince’s personal chef claims the star was constantly sick for the last few months of his life.
Ray Roberts revealed that the late musician, who passed away at his Paisley Park estate in Minneapolis late last month, had been battling "the flu or a cold" during his final months and was "off his game".
He told City Pages: "He didn’t seem like his normal self. He’d been like that for months. The last few months he had the flu or a cold, always. There was always something going on. He was off his game and needed to rest. I had to be careful about what I was serving him."
Ray’s comments come amid claims that Prince had been diagnosed with AIDS six months before he died.
It has been alleged that Prince, 57, contracted HIV in the Nineties before developing full-blown AIDS last year after refusing medication for the illness on religious grounds.
Friends of the late star – who was a Jehovah’s Witness – told the National Enquirer magazine: "He was in bad shape. Doctors told Prince his blood count was unusually low and that his body temperature had dropped dangerously below the normal 98.6 degrees. He was totally iron deficient, very weak and often disoriented. He rarely ate and when he did it all came right back up."
However, Prince is said to have told his friends: "God can – and will – cure me."
