Kathryn Drysdale’s tricky squeaky voice

Kathryn Drysdale’s squeaky voice in ‘Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps’ changed with each series.
The 34-year-old actress portrayed busy-body Louise Brooks in the comedy sketch from 2001 until 2011 but, despite the amount of time she spent playing her alter-ego, she has admitted she could never quite perfect her high-pitched tone.
Speaking exclusively to BANG Showbiz, she said: "My character in ‘Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps’ got squeakier as the years went on and sometimes if the script got a bit crazier, my character became crazier and the voice became squeakier. It’s hard to replicate and in actual fact, that’s why each series she sounded a little different, because I couldn’t remember how I did it!"
The belly-laughing programme came to an end five years ago but the brunette beauty is still very much in touch with the cast – particularly Sheridan Smith, who played Janet Keogh, and Natalie Casey, who portrayed Donna Wilkinson.
She explained: "In general I do still speak to the cast. I particularly keep in touch with Sheridan Smith and Natalie Casey, they’re two of my best friends and I see them quite frequently. They’re really like sisters to me, the ‘Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps’ is like my extended family."
Meanwhile, Kathryn has just finished working on the new audio drama ‘Alien: Out of the Shadows’.
‘Alien: Out of the Shadows’ is available from 26 April, free with a 30-day trial at www.audible.co.uk/scream
