Kirsty Gallacher is "very happy" following her split from boyfriend Danny Cipriani.
The 40-year-old TV presenter – who has children Jude, six, and Oscar, nine, with ex-husband Paul Sampson – decided to separate from the 28-year-old English rugby ace because their 12-year age gap began to highlight major differences between them.
But Kirsty insists she is doing well since the break-up and her main priority in life is her kids, whom she will always put above any man.
Speaking on ITV show ‘Lorraine’, she said: "Well it’s been an interesting three years, and I’m obviously a single mum, divorced and I think you just get stronger don’t you and you’ve just got through things and if something’s not right you have to make a change. So you have to make sure you’re happy in life. Make sure it’s the right person at the right time you know, that’s it really.
"The kids are doing really well, and that’s been the main thing over these last few years. I’m not speaking as anybody different in that situation. So many go through it. If you have children that is your responsibility, they’re the ones that are often , or could be harmed. And you just make sure that they’re OK and I think I’ve got lots going on and I’m very happy."
Although she is now in her 40s and the age gap played a part in her break-up from Danny – who had been sending racy messages to model Danni Levy while he was still dating Kirsty – the Sky Sports News presenter doesn’t feel limited by her age and insists she feels better than she’s ever felt.
Kirsty said: "I feel great, I feel better than I’ve ever felt. And I think we’re all sort of 10 years younger perhaps. But also I think my mum had my little sister, she’s 11 years junior, my little sister was born when my mum was nearly 40. So I didn’t really see it as old. And I think that’s been interesting to me."
