‘Cuckoo’ is set to return for another two series.
The third installment of the sitcom- starring Taylor Lautner and Greg Davies – came to an end this week, but eagle-eyed viewers won’t have to wait too long for the next series as bosses have already given four and five the go-ahead.
Damian Kavanagh, Controller of BBC Three, said: "’Cuckoo’ is brilliant and it’s coming back for two new series."
Details surrounding the next two installments – including the returning cast line-up – is being kept tightly under wraps but it has been confirmed production for series four will kick off later this year, with the view that it will go to air in 2017.
The hilarious sitcom, written by Robin French and Kieron Quirke, first hit screens in 2012 and was one of the first comedies to appear on BBC Three’s new online home.
And, since then, it has become a permanent fixture in the BBC iPlayer Most Popular category.
Dan Hine, executive producer for Roughcut, explained: "Like anxious parents, we watched ‘Cuckoo’ leap into the brave new world of BBC Three online but we needn’t have worried. We’re delighted it connected with such a wide audience. The response to this series has been outstanding, which is testament to our hugely talented cast and crew."
