Chris Hemsworth considers himself to be a feminist.
The 32-year-old actor says his mother instilled a "lot of respect for women" in him and has praised her and his father for the "positive influence" they have made in his life.
He said: "My mum’s a big feminist. I think that my views on things, as far as respect for women and so on, came from my mum. My dad has a very balanced and respectful view on a lot of things too. They were huge positive influences in my life."
And Chris is thrilled to be starring in ‘The Huntsman: Winter’s War’ because it features a number of strong female characters played by the likes of Jessica Chastain, Emily Blunt and Charlize Theron.
He added: "I think the balance has been tipped for a long time heavily in the men’s direction. There are seven to eight male superheroes and one female in there. This is the opposite."
Meanwhile, the father-of-three also revealed he would have no problems returning to his role as Thor.
He told Radio Times magazine: "You can take risks and do other things and if they don’t work, you can jump back on the Marvel train."
