Puff Daddy has announced a ‘Bad Boy Records Reunion’ concert.
The 46-year-old rapper will host a gig to celebrate what would be his late friend The Notorious B.I.G’s 44th birthday on May 20.
The ‘Bad Boy Family’ will be reuniting with new and old artists taking to the stage at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn go on sale April 2, including Notorious’ widow Faith Evans, Lil’ Kim, the Lox, Total, R&B group 112, French Montana, Mario Winans, Mace, Jay Z and Mary J. Blige.
Puff Daddy – whose real name is Sean Combs – said in a statement: "This isn’t just another concert – this is hip hop history. "The Bad Boy Family includes some of the biggest names in music and songs that helped define a whole generation of music. Also, we are celebrating one of the greatest of all time – Notorious B.I.G. This will be a night to remember. I can’t wait to see you all there."
Fans have been promised a night that will showcase music spanning 20 years with "every hit that Bad Boy has ever made live on stage!"
The tour could feature a hologram of Notorious B.I.G., which Faith is having created.
She has previously expressed an interest in using the technology to bring the rapper – who was shot dead in March 1997 – ‘back to life’ if she was invited to perform on the tour.
She previously said: "If this Bad Boy [reunion] tour ever really happens, that might be something we might consider and if I was to go on that tour, of course, I’d use it but just not overuse it."
