Kelly Rowland says Beyoncé is "a voice for women".
The Destiny’s Child star has praised her former bandmate for her politically-charged performance at last month’s Superbowl, celebrating her pal’s ability to promote these issues to a wider audience.
She said: "I just knew she was working on it and she was so excited. She was giving me tidbits. She had an amazing performance. What is so great about Beyoncé is here she is a voice for women and she still carries that torch and we do it with great pride.
"It is possible to get information about our rights and stand up for ourselves and we can’t wait for someone to do that for us."
The 35-year-old singer – who has 16-month-old son Titan with husband Tim Witherspoon – also revealed she always keeps in touch with her bandmates including Michelle Williams.
She added to the New York Daily News newspaper: "I always see the ladies. We always hang out. Michelle was just at my house last week. Myself and B were hanging out – even though it is not in front of everyone at the Super Bowl. We were at her house."
