Catherine Tyldesley has signed a new £100,000 contract with ‘Coronation Street’.
The lucrative deal will keep the blonde beauty – who plays barmaid Eva Price – on the show for at least another year.
A source told the Sun on Sunday: "She’s a real star and has a great future on the cobbles."
The blonde beauty recently admitted that although she’s desperate to try her hand at other acting roles, she’d love to see her flirtatious alter-ego still pulling pints behind the Rovers Return pub, chatting up the men, and flashing her ample cleavage on the show in five decades’ time.
She explained: "I adore ‘Corrie’ … but there are lots of other things I want to do, and I want to be versatile, so it would be nice to go off and do other bits and pieces.
"But I would hope that no matter what happens, ‘Corrie’ will always be somewhere I can come home to. I’d love to see Eva at 80-odd, still behind the Rovers bar with her boobs up to here, setting the world to rights."
Catherine’s new deal comes after a number of high-profile departures from the soap.
Brooke Vincent – who recently revealed she is desperate to broaden her horizons and try her hand at a "gritty" blockbuster in Hollywood – is taking a break from her role as Sophie Webster in order to try her hand at theatre in Manchester’s ‘My Baby’ later this year.
She said: "I had been there for so long. I wanted a new challenge. ‘Corrie’ is my home and that’s nice but it’s also nice to do something else for a while. Being on stage is a different way of acting."
And Ryan Thomas – who played bricklayer Jason Grimshaw – has also recently quit the show in order to kick-start his career Stateside.
