Neil Morrissey’s intimate inspection

Neil Morrissey and Jason Gardiner had to inspect each other’s bare behinds for tick bites on ‘Bear Grylls: Mission Survive’.

The 53-year-old actor had to intimately examine the 44-year-old choreographer’s rear end to make sure the blood-sucking insects – which can spread Lyme disease to humans – hadn’t had a little nibble of the former ‘Dancing on Ice’ judge’s posterior.

Speaking on ‘Good Morning Britain’, Neil said: "Me and Jason Gardiner had to team up to do tick checks on each other. You have to look at each other’s cracks."

The ‘Men Behaving Badly’ star’s frank revelation on live morning TV left the breakfast show’s co-host Susanna Reid red faced and slightly confused as to which body part the funnyman was referring.

The brunette beauty replied: "You mean under the arm pits?"

But Neil insisted: "No, I had to part cheeks.

"I was staring right at it. We had to check for each other’s ticks and it was fine.

"I voted to have Samantha Barks to do tick checks on but they wouldn’t let me for some reason."

Neil also had to drink his own urine on the reality TV show – in which eight celebrities take part in a 12-day survival mission led by explorer extraordinaire Bear – but insisted it wasn’t the toughest part of the expedition.

He added: "It’s not the hardest thing you have to do.

"There are things that I found much tougher. In terms of disgusting that was disgusting.

"Bear drinks it on screen as well, he actually pumps it out fresh."

The ‘Grantchester’ star is best known for his portrayal of womaniser Tony Smart in sitcom ‘Men Behaving Badly’ – which ran from 1992 to 1999 – and admits he would be keen to reprise the role.

When asked if he would star in a new series of the show, he added: "I would love to. It starts with a good script.

"Everything starts from a script so I can’t see it happening in the near future."
