Eamonn Holmes is "going through hell" as he recovers from a double hip replacement operation.
The 56-year-old presenter is in a lot of pain after going under the knife, but insists it is nothing compared with the agony he felt for years before having the procedure.
In a call to ‘This Morning’ earlier today (08.02.16), he said: "I am going through hell! No, the truth is, I think anyone would rather not be going through what I am but to anyone who is facing this operation, I want to say that the people here really do know what they are doing and the technology is so advanced.
"Yes, it is going to hurt a bit but this pain doesn’t compare to what I was going through before."
Eamonn admitted he is finding everyday tasks very "difficult" but is grateful to the excellent medical staff who have been treating him.
He said: "At the moment, everything is difficult from charging my mobile phone to brushing my teeth. It’s all just such an effort. Your head also becomes really foggy. But the health professionals do know what they are doing."
The ‘Sunrise’ presenter – who has three children from a previous marriage and son Jack, 13, with wife Ruth Langsford – is expecting his pain to get worse before it gets better.
He said: "I’m day four post operation and the truth is, this will get worse before it gets better.
"But the difference between this pain and the pain I was in before is that this will get better."
