Prince Harry wants Japan to win Rugby World Cup

Britain’s Prince Harry thinks it’ll be "fantastic" if Japan win the Rugby World Cup.

The 31-year-old royal, who was left devastated last week when England bowed out of the tournament after losing to Wales and Australia, is keen for the East Asian team to walk away with the trophy when the competition wraps up.

Speaking to the children during his visit to the Paignton Rugby Club in Devon yesterday (07.10.15), he asked: "Who do you want to win the World Cup now England are out?"

After a number of youngsters shouted Japan, the handsome Prince seemingly forgot about the other home nations – including Wales – as he replied: "Everyone keeps saying Japan. It would be fantastic if Japan won."

News Harry wants Japan to win the tournament will unlikely go down well with his brother Prince William, 33, as he’s an avid supporter of Wales and regularly attends their games.

The Duke of Cambridge, who is the Vice Royal Patron of the Welsh Rugby Union, is reportedly keen to persuade his younger sibling to support his team in the quarter finals.

Robin McBryde, former rugby union player for Wales, previously told the Daily Mail newspaper: "The Duke of Cambridge is an avid (Wales) supporter and it was good to see him in the changing room after the Fiji game."

He added: "He is going to support Wales and hopefully if he can influence his brother Harry to put on a Welsh shirt, that will be great to see as well."
