Union J can communicate

Union J would be able to talk to each other if any of them wanted to leave the band.

Josh Cuthbert thinks it would be "hard" if one of his bandmates George Shelley, Jaymi Hensley or JJ Hamblett, wanted to quit the group but thinks they’d discuss the situation together.

He told BANG Showbiz: " I’d probably say we would be able to talk to each other about it, but it would be hard if someone felt like that.

"I’d like to think we are all very honest with each other and we don’t have secrets."

While the ‘Carry You’ group haven’t experienced such huge global success as One Direction – who, like Union J, found fame on ‘The X Factor’ – Josh can understand why Zayn Malik recently quit the band to lead a more "normal" life.

He added:

Union J have been compared to One Direction – on several occasions – because they were both from the X Factor.

He said: "I can never begin to imagine what it’s like being in One Direction [but] after experiencing a little taste of what it would be like, I completely understand why Zayn would want to lead a normal life. I get that 100%.

I am sure the 1D boys are really close. If Zayn felt like he couldn’t speak to them, I suppose it depends on the circumstance."

Union J will be playing Barclaycard presents British Summer Time Hyde Park on 28 June. Tickets are available at www.bst-hydepark.com/tickets
